Blogdecember Day Twenty-Nine

Through The Garden Gate : December 2020

As usual I am joining Sarah from Down By The Sea, for her monthly garden visit, Through The Garden Gate.

At this time of year it is a struggle to appreciate the garden other than from a window, most days. Today with a little sunshine I made a point to go and have a wander. I'm always on the lookout for any colour in my garden and the fuchsias and hollies didn't disappoint. Despite the colder weather the fuchsias keep on going with so much to love about them.

Snap Dragons, Marigolds and Camellias lend their colour too, to a garden mostly composed of greens and browns at the moment. On blue sky days it is lovely to look up through the magnolia and eucalyptus.

In the lower garden the pond is stripped of its debris and adds a peaceful element to this section.

The scented daphne is coming into flower as is the aeonium. I look forward to its lime beauty for weeks to come.

The veggie patch is still producing although it has had a good sort out this month.

Witch Hazel is beginning to flower too , something that we added last spring.

So how is your garden doing, or is it six inches under snow?
